Nursery Ministry
Erica Harris – Chair
Marlaina Woodward – Vice-Chair
St. Edward’s Nursery Ministry was reactivated this summer due to a growing need for child care during
the 8:00 and 10:30 worship services. The former nursery space has been converted into the current
Gathering Room, so the nursery is now in the Crying Room at the back of the sanctuary, which has been
stocked with donated toys, furniture, and other supplies (thank you to all who donated!). Through the
nursery ministry, volunteers from the congregation provide care for infants and children up to 4 years
old. Diocesan policy requires that at least two unrelated adults be present when working with children.
We currently have seven regular volunteers for the 10:30 worship service, but two are related, and most
also serve in other capacities during worship, so they are not always available to serve in the nursery.
There are unfortunately no regular nursery volunteers for the 8:00 worship service.
Our ministry would welcome additional volunteers for either service. No experience needed, other than
a love for children! If you are interested, please contact Erica or Marlaina. Nursery workers must be at
least 21 years old (or at least 16 years old if working with an adult), have taken the Safeguarding God’s
Children course through the Diocese within the last 3 years, and have a current background check. For
